A Proverb a Day

As godly parents we want our children to be wise — that is, to be godly young men and women who fear God and make good choices. Here’s one way to help our little ones become wise: read the book of Proverbs.

God gave us the book of Proverbs to guide us in the way of the Lord. The nuggets of wisdom in Proverbs are essential if we want to be wise. The book of Proverbs has thirty-one chapters. Most months have thirty-one days.  So, if you read one chapter a day, you can read through the book in a month (at least in any month with thirty-one days).  In a year your family could read through the book of Proverbs twelve times.

The minds of young children are like thirsty sponges, and hearing the Proverbs read over and over will imprint God’s truth in their hearts and minds.  Even young children can be wise when they know the wisdom that comes from God.
