The Life and Letters of Paul

I am deep in the thoes of writing God’s Great Covenant: New Testament 2 (Acts, Epistles, and Revelation).¬† I am gathering together the biggest amount of resources so far. Calvin, Boice, Stott, Kistemake, F.F. Bruce, Dennis Johnson¬†… that’s just to name a few of the commentaries I’m referring to as I write. And, I recently purchased several additional books.

One of these books arrived today, and I’m excited about it. It’s just a little book, less than a hundred pages, and not much bigger than a postcard in size, but it has glossy pages and beautiful pictures and maps on every page. Yes, I still like picture books like my four-year-old granddaughter Lyla does! The title of the book is The Life and Letters of Paul and it’s a Holman Reference book. This little book summaries the story of Paul’s life (progressing¬†through Acts) and then condenses each of his letters in a brief outline and highlights the main themes. The colored pictures show present day pictures of places to which Paul traveled. In the margins are little sidebars with short notes about the culture of Paul’s world, Old Testament references, word pictures, and life applications. I can’t believe there is so much pertinent information in such a small space.

Are you studying Acts or Paul’s epistles? Look up this book on Amazon. For an inexpensive price you will have a wealth of information.
